2. Collection of Personal Data

We only collect personal data when you voluntarily provide it or when collection is technically necessary. Below we explain what data we collect, why, and on what legal basis.

Contact Form

When you use our contact form, we store your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and your message. We use this data solely to process your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures). We delete your data after processing is complete, at the latest after 6 months, unless there is a legal retention obligation.

Server Log Files

Each time you access this website, the server automatically records: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, IP address, time of request. This data is technically necessary to provide the website and ensure security. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Log files are deleted after 30 days.

Digital Check-in (Registration Form)

If we offer digital check-in, we collect the data required to fulfil the legal registration obligation before your arrival: first and last name, address, date of birth, nationality, arrival and departure dates, and the number of accompanying guests. For guests who are not German nationals, we additionally collect the passport or ID-card number. For accompanying persons we collect the same data (name, address, nationality, and — for non-German nationals — passport or ID-card number).

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with a legal obligation) in conjunction with § 30 of the German Federal Registration Act (Bundesmeldegesetz). The data is used solely to fulfil the registration obligation and is automatically deleted after the statutory retention period (in Germany, at the latest 12 months after your departure).

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) on Cloudflare Pages. Personal data (in particular IP addresses) may be transferred to the USA (third-country transfer pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Additionally, EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are in place as supplementary safeguards. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and efficient provision).

4. SSL/TLS Encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for secure data transmission. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the lock icon in your browser’s address bar and the “https://” prefix.

5. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies. No analytics or advertising tools are used. Only technically necessary cookies required for website operation are used.

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
